More info
Neowise, officially known as C/2020 F3, is a 3-mile-wide chunk of ice and dust on a 6,000-year loop around the solar system. The comet has grown noticeably dimmer over the past few days as it moves away from the sun. Just before it made its closest approach to the Earth, I took a series of time lapses of the sky above the island of Terschelling.
In daylight, the same spot doesn’t offer the most picturesque view.
